I just wanted to say that we went to the ear, nose throat specialist today and the young nurse told us she is leaving her job here in Bend to move to NY to work for Project ALS because she is a relative to the sisters who started the project. She is very excited and said there are some very promising things going on and it looks encouraging.
I just wanted to share something positive.
Thanks,
Phyl

That's wonderful! How great that family members share an interest in helping with this disease and will even move to a different city for it. Thanks for sharing the story. Leslie

not that you might know but what type of promising news and is there a website for the place she is going

The movie Jennifer is where I first heard about Project ALS. I think they introduced the concept of stem cell research on als. I am sure they have a Web site. She didn't say any specific drug but was very encouraging and excited about what was going on at project ALS and was so enthused to be a part of it. The doctor came in and then we didnt talk after that. I e-mailed CNN and requested they do a special on ALS and especially on the fraud associated with it. I didn't get a response. I think we need more of that kind of awareness also and that usually gets the public fired up. I agree, we could all e-mail Oprah etc., but I would like to see a show on other aspects of the disease instead of just how it physically affects you, with that just being part of the big picture. There are more pressing issues than some of the stuff CNN comes up with, even though I am a big fan of theirs.
