Benign Calf Amyotrophy
April,
It is an atrophy that deals with the calf muscle, non-progressive (doesn't spread to other parts of your anatomy) and is benign. It does do damage in the way of weakness and atrophy. There is also a variant that operates in shoulders.
If you google it, there are a number of articles on it and a few have pictures (I like pictures!)
We had a contest to see who could be the first to come up with another benign disease to compliment Robert's Japanese sounding thing (Hirayama). Lostinlouisville won with "Benign Calf Amyotrophy". I found it to be bonified and pretty nasty, as anything with the word "amyotrophy" would be expected to be.
