Hi. I had a toxic chemical spill in my eye. It was isobutyl nitrite. I washed it out for about 15-20 minutes and went about my day. A few days later, I experienced heart palpitations, difficulty breathing, chest pain and overall weakness even in my voice as well. Went to the docs but no, they said I was fine.

Fast forward, 2 months. I have a weak diaphragm, pain in legs, pain in chest, difficulty breathing, constipation, weakened left hand, cramp in left bicep, chest pain, indigestion, trouble walking, hip weakness. These symptoms all progressed over time. I am extremely scared and have to see my doctor for a referral to the neurologist. Does this sound like Al's?

Sorry you experienced that, it must have been stressful. Please make sure to read here: Read Before Posting. As you will read there, nothing you list is associated with a pattern that indicates ALS. You will have to keep working with your doctors to figure out what the trouble might be, but MND is not the direction your pattern of symptoms is pointing.

Definitely not sounding like ALS at all.

Please don't keep trying to solve this on the internet. Get back to your doctor and express how much fear you have so you can receive support and help while moving towards specialist evaluations.

Downstream toxicity is certainly a possibility. I would ask for bloodwork and an EKG before any neurology referral. This doesn't sound neurological to me.
