Hi -
I've been away for about 2 months because my Pals (Pat) has been in ICU with Pneumonia, and then has come home on a vent. The vent was always in her plan - the pneumonia was not (LOL).
We have had a really rocky course because of some hospital errors (she aspirated tube feedings, they gave her bedsores, never got her out of bed in 50 days - yada yada yada).
But I am back and we are regaining our normal life, albeit very slowly.
To all of you I say thanks - Cindy, Al, Mike, Jeff and many, many others. Your words to each other have been a constant source of support in my life. I can do this vent thing fairly easily because of all of the things I have learned here.
I also want you to know that venting is not all that intimidating. I have no fear of the care and I do not find it exhausting.
I'm glad to be back among my friends - and I thank you all for everything!
Love - Beth
