Rubber band ligation is a procedure in which the hemorrhoid is tied off and eventually dries up and drops off. I've had hemorrhoids for a couple of years (1st degree but very painful). I went to a gastro last year and he offered to do the ligation in his office. He has a lot of experience. He said, with ALS he would not recommend surgery but he could do the office procedure although I might have to come back a couple of times because I had more than one.
Has anyone had this procedure?
I no longer have constipation because I'm taking the psyllium every day, drinking plenty of water, and taking extra magnesium.
I'm worried when I'm less mobile, they will bother me more and it'll be too late to do anything about them. I don't need another source of pain if I can avoid it.
Thanks.
