Hey friends,

Thank you first of all for reading. I read the “read before you post” section. I am having some weird symptoms and my doctor doesn’t know and sent me to a neuro except where I am, this could take months.

I am a 30year old female. I started 3 months ago consistently waking up with numb shoulder muscles. This developed into very painful shoulder pain, kind of like a sharp shoulder blade pain. And I have had this “weak” feeling radiate down my last 3 fingers since then as well.

Basically, I’ve never dropped anything but my fingers feel really weak and shake when sometimes they are flexing for too long. This is all only happening on my right side. I have extremely stiff shoulders and neck. Physio hasn’t helped except for feeling great right after the appointment. Mainly the weak feeling comes and goes but recently it has stayed longer.

Yesterday as I was trying to use my usual middle finger to slide the shower knob it just started to shake uncontrollably but went away after the third try. I am really terrified of these symptoms and have no one to talk to. I have some twitching all over my body. I can still grip using all my fingers but dexterity is not always there. My biceps are also shaky and cramp at times. My shoulder is quite shaky. Sometimes I feel tingling down my arm but this is more like a secondary symptom after the “weakness” that I feel and that causes my fingers to sometimes shake. I am not sure if this is clinical weakness …

I also have tendinitis on my foot on the same side of my body which makes me loose balance but I am able to run and walk so I almost didn’t wanna mention this. I just wanted to hear your thoughts because my anxiety is honestly debilitating these past days.

Thank you so much for reading, appreciate all of you.

My hand muscles also feel stiff

I don't see any reason to worry about ALS since this sounds like a localized problem that may have roots in your upper spine or the nerves/tissues in your shoulder. I would ask for a referral to a physiatrist (physical med/rehab) or an orthopedic shoulder specialist.

Thank you so much for your response. That is what my physiotherapist also said.

Have a lovely day
