hi my name is Camila iam 38 years old i posted last year here concerning about my fasciulations that i still have since august 2019,i visit a neurologist he asked for an EMG i made in february and all came normal, last week i notice that iam wasting muscle in hands and legs ,i cant go to the neurologist becausei live in Brazil and the city is closed ,iam very scared i want to know if muscle wasting can come before the weakness ,because i still can use my hands and legs normally,or the muscle wasting appear first please help

Previous thread here:

Fasciculations are common, nonspecific, and meaningless in the absence of muscle function failure which you have not described. In addition, the normal EMG clears you of ALS.

To answer your question, in ALS, muscle wasting usually comes after weakness. But your normal EMG rules it out, so you’re good to go.

thank you very much,i apreciate your quick response i hope a cure is found soon take care
