Hi everyone need some advice please, has anyone experienced severe chest hair soreness/sensitivity, Poor Mick can't bear to wear his top at the moment and it all started out of the blue 2 days ago, any suggestions would be gratefully received. xx Ang xx :?:

Could it be more of a skin sensitivity? My husband doesn't like heavy shirts, lately. He has terrible itching. I use a product with benzocaine that somewhat helps.

Ang, if you have a dr. who takes care of him you might want to have them check for an impending shingles outbreak. It's described as a burning pain and usually follows a dermatomal distribution....in plainspeak, it's a specific area that may seem to follow a rib outline vs a generalized, nonspecific pattern. You can have redness and eventually a breakout (this is the same virus involved w/ chickenpox) but one of the earlier signs is terrible skin sensitivity.

Thanks dirt dog, will email our specialist and ask his advice,Thanks Brooksea,he did use to have itchiness quite a few months ago but he is already taking an antihystamine which stopped it all. But maybe this is replacing it who knows with this condition so will also query that with his specialist too thankyou both again. x Ang

my husband does not have als just a bunch of diseases that result is very similar symptoms and care. However, his skin is extremely sensitive. For example, he only uses 100% boar bristle brush for his hair because all the other ones are too painful for him. He loves soft clothing and blankets because they are easier on his extra sensitive skin. I don't know what it stems from, I know sometimes my skin also gets ultra sensitive when I don't feel well so I think in his case it's just related to all the diseases he suffers from. Good luck in trying to figure this out.

I do when I am sick with a bug, or the flu.
