I've noticed my posts and emails are getting shorter and starting to read like Haiku. Three lines, 5 syll, 7 syll, 5 syll.
Now, I have no skill in this area, but there are many talented people on this forum. Here's a couple attempts from me to get the ball rolling.

My fat dog snoring,
I am not really lonely.
Is that the school bus?

Swollen, blue, useless.
Hey! Talking about my feet!
Where is your mind at?

Man, that is weak. If somebody doesn't follow I will be really embarrassed!

Hi Tomby - I think I did it correctly, but will not be surprised if I messed up!

I like my forum friends
Sometimes my mind does not work
This is crazy Tom

I don't know Haiku
But I do want to try now
Is this good enough?

Judy, awesome!

Judy responds first.
Come on poet laureates,
Don't leave us hanging!

syl·la·ble Listen to audio/ˈsɪləbəl/ noun
plural syl·la·bles
[count] : any one of the parts into which a word is naturally divided when it is pronounced
▪ The word “doctor” has two syllables. ▪ “Doctor” is a two-syllable word. ▪ The first syllable of the word “doctor” is given stress.
in words of one syllable — see 1word

So, depending on pronunciation, the word "vegetable" has 3 or 4 syllables (veg-et-a-ble or veg-ta-ble)

Tom, had to do my little teacher thing before starting...please excuse... Tom, does Haiku have any punctuation?

Planting tomatoes,
The windy rain lashed about;
Broken plants were left.

Ann, I think anything goes. Nice effort! Sorry about your 'maters.

"Maters"...so much better than "tomahtoes" or "tomaytoes". Fun thread, Tom!

Tom starts a fun thread
Do you have a suggestion
He wondered out loud

White bread and mayo.
Round slices of juicy fruit.
A 'mater sammich.

Haiku recipe.

This is rather fun
One could become addicted
Could stay here all day

I know what you mean.
Could go any direction.
Who else will chime in?

Haiku is three lines
Usually about nature
Living is brilliant

5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables.

Im not trying this
it seems way too hard to do
maybe next time folks

Mystery to me
I was six three, now four ten;
Six pack now a keg

heaven is for real
read the book tonight for fun
makes my thoughts wander

my hubby is gone
looking for things to comfort
my grief settles down
