Hi I’ve been a lurker for a while and dealing with the anxiety of body wide twitching. I had a emg done earlier this year and have some questions. I have muamp in many muscles and wondering if that is normal. I know my chances of als are low but would appreciate a look at my emg. If anything maybe this will help others suffering from anxiety.

Is that large mups? Those are not unusual especially if you are fairly muscular. Even if not without other findings in those muscles they are not worrisome. I see the other abnormalities were interpreted as diabetic neuropathy. What did the doctor say about everything

I am fairly muscular and the neurologist was the one who preformed the emg. He says neuropathy as I have no pain sensations in either feet and no atrophy or loss of strength. I can still lift heavy. He said that bilateral similarities was consistent with neuropathy

That all makes sense- trust your doctor. Twitching is common and benign without other findings. When you say you can lift fairly heavy are you referring to actual lifting as in gym exercise? Twitching is especially common among weightlifters

Thanks for the reassurance. I did lift in the gym til COVID but around the house and work I can lift heavy objects. I would like to note that I have been diagnosed in the last few months as having rheumatoid arthritis. The thing is my hands hurt from it but my feet feel nothing even though they are just as swollen. It’s hard to put everything out of my head but I’ve been twitching since February or at least noticed it then. Thanks for listening.
