Hi everyone, very glad you are hear to talk too, my anxiety is through the roof.

I started getting weak legs this past August, nothing I can pinpoint, just weak..About 2 weeks ago I started having twitches all over, mostly in legs but also in arms hands feet.
in the past week I have been waking up with a weak right hand, can't grip anything, as the day goes on I can start gripping again but still weak and my arm feels weak.

I am going to see a neurologist and also going for an EMG.

I am very stressed now as I started researching my symptoms.
Did anyone start this way.

I'm sorry for what your going through, it sucks.

Very weak case for ALS, there, Tracy. Lots of other things you might have that are more common than ALS, and not fatal.

For one thing, in ALS, your grip can't get better during the day. Also, in ALS, a muscle doesn't "feel" weak. It doesn't feel like anything is wrong. It just doesn't work.

I think you've gotten yourself scared quite a bit too soon. Don't worry about ALS while you're awaiting your EMG.

I agree with Atsugi.

Weak feeling legs are not a symptom of ALS. Can't stand on your toes, can't walk on your heels, can't jump off the ground... those are important symptoms. ALS is about failing, not feeling.

Thank you both for your reply. I feel calmer already. I will come back if EMG doesnt go well.
Very comforting.
