welcome to the forum ed.
bowel problems are not a symptom of mnd as a rule,but one or two have complained about this. bladder problems/spastic bladder can be caused by umn desease and alot of pls/hsp people get this including myself. maybe if the bladder can be effected it could cause problems in the bowel with some.
i have found out i have developed a fallen arch in my left foot and have to see someone in orthopedics, not sure what device they fit for this or what device your brother needs. does he have drop foot,there are special devices for this.
