Hello all,
I hope you’re all doing well.
As I am sitting here the side of my left foot is buzzing intermittently- like a second on, second off. It’s been most of the day. I know that sensory issues aren’t usually associated with MND but wondered if anyone else had experienced similar?. It’s super annoying! Interestingly, I sometimes wake up in the night with numbness/pins and needles in the same foot when I’m lying on my back, just realised!

Yes, I have pins and needles constantly and have had them since I was diagnosed. Mine evolved to pain in the bottom of my left foot.

Mayo even did a nerve conduction study to see if something showed up. It did not. I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos but my ALS doctor believes it is part of the disease and said he has seen patients with sensory issues. I also still have fasciculations in that area. The only thing I've found to help is ice. It calms down everything. Even putting my feet in cold water helps.

I have none of this in my upper body.

I get the pins and needles like every 4 months, give or take. My legs become much more responsive and I have less tone (stiffness). It’s easier to walk but I’m very careful when moving. It usually lasts about two hours. Several weeks ago, the pins and needles were all over most of my body. That episode lasted about 15 hours. My doctor said it may be neuropathy. It’s like muscle signals are firing, and the muscles are trying to be responsive
