Having a pulse that is frequently 90+ is another good argument that his body is working too hard and a daily BP med would help bring that down. He can't feel that great with a pulse running high all the time. BP of 90/53 is exactly what is chasing the pulse up, among other things. The heart tries to compensate for the low blood flow. Anyway, the idea is to even up.
The nurse obviously knows nothing about the release profile of ACE inhibitors, if she is acting like they are a prn med.
