i tried almost everything including cannabis
but
there is a problem with dosage.
nothing worked, except something slowed down my progression.
i tried thc, but it knocked me down so i quitted untill i used to it step by step.
i tried cbd, but don't know dosage.
no reviews, sci.articles, nothing... just "show promise", "can be powerfull"... etcetc
tried to read sci. about cannabis, very few things, als - lesser, als+cannabis = 2/3 articles.
nothing.
i'm on my own.
decided to listen to rick simpson and try 60 ml/mg thc in 90 days. it is huge quantity of thc, but that is only thing left. if parkinsons, alzheimer, epilepsy, cancer, tumors and other invasive diseases are defeated, why shouldnt be disease like als (it is not invasive, nothing is damaged except neurons which are Damaged, but not Dead: MND is abbrevit. of motor neuron Disease, not motor neuron Death!)) of course, along with cbd, in ratio 1:1
started with 70mg thc (custom, strains: nightingale and hyidrow)+70mg cbd (lazarus, botany, rso-amsterdam)+thca (non psychoactive).
goal is 3 x daily cbd (3x100mg)+1 x 100mg thc + 1 x 100mg thca.
did anybody try with sucha a dosage?

What symptoms are you trying to address? Pain? Sleep? Cramps? Anxiety?

Is someone telling you cannabis can cure als, or can/has cured cancer, parkinsons, and alzheimers? Anytime anyone suggests a product can cure a whole bunch of totally different diseases you can immediately conclude it's quackery or a scam.

Cannabis may help with pain and symptoms like cramps and spasticity, but it's not going to be a cure.

My husband is a scientist who works in drug discovery in oncology research. His take on ALS is that what happens to the motor neurons is similar to what happens to cells when we age, they get this build up of "trash" proteins that cause cell death. If you draw the comparison to treating aging you see how huge and complicated a prospect of treating als really is. And imo no magical herb or supplement regimen will do the job. (not to be a downer). I do have a lot of hope seeing all the research and new clinical trials. But I think the ideaof a simple natural remedy is a cruel deception.

idea is to stop it! there is nothing agressive in this disease, but something is messed up. that is why i trying with homeostasis... nothing can cure als except body itself, cause mechanism is extremly complicated. cannabis can help in MS with a cramps and spasticity, but it removed plaque as well! yes, many people CURED cancer and MS in my country, i witnessed! hope that homeostasis can help a lot! medicaments play role only to ease symptoms, and that is why i dont believe in chemistry.

Jethro,

Here is my take on cannabis. I believe that it is neuroprotective and I believe it can alleviate symptoms conventional drugs cannot or, at least, not without damaging organs or giving one horrible side effects.

I have a very low tolerance to THC. I only take 5-10 mg each night but I take 100 mg of CBD, either split into two doses or all at night. I've been doing this for three years.

The first thing I did when I was diagnosed was tested myself for all vitamins, minerals and tons of other blood tests. I had to pay a lot out-of-pocket for the vitamin, mineral, and stool test but I got some useful information. Then I corrected deficiencies or other abnormalities. I figured taking the best possible care of my general health would give me a better quality of life regardless of the speed of my progression.

I re-test everything once a year and go from there.

I think stopping progression will be found in stem cell therapy and for FALS in gene blocking therapy. Some of the people in the clinical trial of Nurone have had pretty amazing results that are documented on Facebook. Meanwhile, I plan on sticking to my plan of taking care of my general health because, at least, that's within my control.

FWIW, two neuros I've spoken to believe that cannabis is one of the best things to take for ALS. One told me (before it was legal in Florida) that if he had ALS, he'd get it on the street, if necessary.

@KimT
als is a bunch of facts/symptoms/disease(s) which were generated long before onset. disease which took a such a long time to manifest in it's worst stadium needs at least - same amount of time to withdraw. hence, i don't count on affecting cb1, cb2 etcetc to be affected with mmj intake immediatelly, but i count on homeostasis to take place via ECS. so, neuroprotectivity, protection against inflamation and acting like scavenger (antioxidans) are things i count on in a longer period. i feel better with cannabis.
i found about 10000+articles about mmj, but mmj+als just few (not clinical studies, anecdotal or so) published on internet - mice took thc
(how long, quantity etcetc - unknown), 2 men who take cbd+thc (broad spectrum, isolate etc), 4 men who inhaled cannabis (10+years live), few patients with no specified data and that is all..
nobody claimed anything bad/negative ever against cannabis and nobody excludes cannabis as a potential cure..
worst thing is : "cannabis shows promise in overtaking burden of als symptoms".
interesting. they know that cannabis "can take burden", but they dont want to claim weight of burden and what can come along with it.
nobody mention cannabis as a potential remedy. even it is well known it's properties.
yes, it is clear now: cannabis CAN cure cancer (via apoptosis), MS (i saw 2 persons cured!), epilepsy, and treat fibromy., PD, AD and many more neurodegenerative "als-like" diseases. i need just one reason why als can not be seriously treated with cannabis. how serious? no data! resin thc and cbd treatment emerged app 10 years ago. there is a survey
(at 4:00 min) app 30% pals in usa use cannabis. ignorance!
why?
what is a crucial problem with cannabis? every man acts differently, theres no unique dosage (biggest problem), no manuals, no "one shoe fits all feet"
@nona i am trying to shut down als before it shuts down my body. symptoms? all. i will bite a bullet.
i grow it on my own! waiting for harvest...
there are no numbers to compare statisticaly anything... all i could is to make FVC which is 84% measured at hospital week ago and 90 kg.

Since I moved into this condo an interesting cannabis-related thing is going on. Most of our residents are in their 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. As you might expect, they are developing age-related issues such as arthritis, various conditions, and conditions that include pain and stiffness.

I've talked openly about my cannabis use. I've given samples of topicals and one 95-year old man got relief from arthritis in his hands (just from topical application) enough that he went back to playing golf twice a week. He doesn't qualify for a medical card in this state but he is being helped by Charlotte's web (CBD is better than nothing.)

Another woman was able to come off Lexapro (which she had been taking for 15 years) with a large dose of CBD twice a day and a small dose of THC at night. She is elated that she no longer depends on drugs with side effects and says her general health is better. She is a 74-year old yoga instructor!

Others are jumping on the CBD bandwagon and those who qualify are getting THC as well.

One person gave a lady with carpel tunnel syndrome some hybrid cream and she felt immediate results that lasted four hours.

I was able to give up Xanax after taking it for nearly 30 years (at a pretty high dose) just from going on Charlotte's web.

@kim no doubt, cannabis helps, but god knows its limits. many cured (MS!) are here, so now you can buy sativex or so in a drug store.
question is how cbd works in sinergy with thc against als.

Over here the drug companies are pouring millions into blocking legal cannabis on the Federal level. It's a shame.

100mg THC/day goal is reached. Already used for a few days. To be continued :)
Definitely this is not for a pALS in a late stage.
