Hello everyone,
I am 53 years old french man.
I was 'booked' 6 months ago by 'my regular' neuro for an EMG with an ALS referent for this/next mid-july, for what was and remain mild symptoms but still puzzled ones.
A year ago I may have been misdiagnosed for an ulnar trap nerf for my left forearm .
This november fasciculations start on my left hand, soon after my fingers are starting to move 'alone at rest' and shake a little from time to time.
I went to my neuro, that first detected action/essential tremor for both hands, witch is possible as my dad ended with essential tremor, both parkinson and any neurodegenetive disease were unlikely according to her.
At some point she said that I may need to get that confirmed 6 months later.
Anyway, she was not allow to make announcement such ALS . She should have told me that the major city hospital was to contact me a week later for some EMG with a neuro that I found to be part of the ALS center. Somehow, I am not blaming her, my dad was a doc, not a easy job to deal with every day...
According her original diagnosis that was send to me, there is no motor nerf damages only sensitive ones on my left forearm. (and light sensitive too for my both sural ones : Karate trauma … apparently another story, said she).
So what do I got now ?, Fasciculation are gone but on my left hand fingers are micro moving alone at rest, I am shaking a little on my keyboard for both hands, my left hand get stuck once every 2 days for more that a year now and I have probably lost a bit of muscle too.
Nevertheless I have never dropped anything and can not really tell that I have lost grip power. I am still practising martial art at decent energy level 3 times a week.
To sum up, my condition did not really get worse during this past 6 months but I still cannot really put a name on my symptomes.
I am going for a brain MRI next week.
I am not looking for a diagnosis here, this, I will have in July. I am just wondering if my story is ringing anyone bell ?
What puzzled me is the fact that at rest my 3 main fingers are moving alone like micro jerks (not tremor way), a bit aggravating really, any ideas on that ?
Thanks for your time an concern, please forgive my langage , I am not nativeand I am typing this live. It is already late.
Regards
