Feeling You've Been Jerked around By Doctors

I would think if i was to have a poll whos been Jerked around by their Doctor ,I would get a large response from some and others seem to like being Jerked around ,and just go their merry way .The answers are not going to come if someone doesnt put pressure on our Medical Community to do so .Especially those who have a Prognosis of PLS .Your not going to die from it Just be debilitated ,so whats the hurry ? Geo

I totally hear you Geo and you're probably speaking because of what's happened to my mom.

For almost a year my mom has suffered from severe knee and leg pain. We've seen many doctors and everyone was of the attitude "I don't know". Finally after waiting many many months and travelling several hours to see an extremely experienced and talented ALS specialist, the source of my mom's pain was identified as bursitis. I watched the tests he ran and they were not rocket science. It's sad that she had to suffer so long because no one would take the time to check it out properly. A PLS diagnosis is like a stigma and everything gets attributed to it and nothing gets done!

The good news is that with medication my mom's pain should get resolved, but it's frustrating that PLSers can't be treated like regular people who have regular problems like everyone else in addition to their PLS.

personally,i think most doctors are egotistical morons!.
okay they spend years studying,but they dont have a clue as to what having a certain illness feels like or day to day problems.

sral,sorry to hear about your mum and i hope her knee recovers.
i go to a neuro rehab clinic every 6mths,there i see a neuro or registrar.
they evaluate your symptoms,meds and any problems you are having.
before putting anything down to the mnd they do tests for it first to rule out other things.

we need to keep on top of any new developments in our bodies as it can effect our illness.
i was told any infection no matter how small can make the muscle spasms worse.

For starters ,Cindy Im just great ,for once someone needs to tell it like it is .Olly Yap you got it right Morons ,Egotistical Yap . Rosa I feel the Frustrations that your Mom is going through ,Im a Been There Done That Guy Unfortunately the people that could and should do something to change that wont .All they want is that green stuff in their Grubby,Greedy little hands .They feel they got through Med School ,now i just collect on it . A friend of mine went into the hospital recently and they held him 4 days and several docs. couldnt figure out what he had ,one doctor the last day came in and found he had a hernia .Good God how long does it take to determine if someone has a hernia GIVE ME A BREAK .That Hospital Racked up some coin there . If they got paid by fast results ,theyd go broke .Our Healthcare system is in seriously bad shape
Ive had a bad day that has lasted 8 years .If we all did our jobs in this fashion wed be fired . Plain and Simple Geo
