For four months I've been having progressive muscles weakness that started with my left leg.
Rn I have it in both legs and arms.

Symptoms:
* muscles twitching all over my body but especially in the legs
* constant muscles cramps, soreness, tightness. It happens even when I'm resting but also when I do any minor activity, walking became challenging.
* burning sensation in the muscles.
* nerve pain - no numbness or tingling or pins and needles.
* burning feet and hands at night.

Tests:
My NCS was normal. Had it few days ago.
EMG showed the following:
* No signs of active denervation
* bilateral reinnervation on C5-C6 muscles

Clean lumbar CT from three months ago.
Cervical MRI showed bulging discs in C4-5-6 without noticeable nerve pinching/compression. I had it amonth ago.

I'm 31F, before was healthy and active.
My PT found weakness all over my body.
It started following some infection I had four months ago.

Help, what could it be?
How could there be reinnervation without active denervation?
Didn't have any injuries.

All over weakness does not sound like ALS. It is up to your doctor to diagnose you but post viral syndromes are common and we see a lot of that here. They can linger for months but eventually improve

Chronic denervation is quite common on emg and you do not need to have had an acute injury. It appears to correspond to your mri and may be irrelevant to your current situation. No active denervation would mean this is definitely not ALS emg. Als emgs have acute AND chronic denervation in a widespread area. You have no acute denervation and your chronic changes are localized.

Please continue to work with your pt and your doctor.
