Thank you Mary. I am sorry to be here too. My husband is a 49 yo army veteran who was diagnosed with spinal ALS. Symptoms started in his wrist, which he thought was carpal tunnel. The Va sent him home with gloves. Fast forward ro last June and he wasn’t sure if it was his hip, ankle, back etc but he was cramping in his feet, hands and back and the fasiculations started. We were diagnosed after all the tests to rule out other potential causes two weeks ago.
He has lost all use of his lower right leg and can barely dress himself as his arm and hand on the same side don’t work at average.
He is exhausted and so fatigued which brings on cramping and spasms.
They are sending him the meds in the mail and baclofen? For muscles. I have no idea where to start looking for trials etc. the Va said if I find one they will help me get him in. The reality is I am treading water at this point and seeking trials is a full time job.
This feels hopeless.
