As a person who has a family history of ALS I'm wondering if exercise (lifting weights) could be detrimental, as in, lifting weights breaks down the muscles and then the body repairs the muscle to make them stronger. But if ALS is in my genes will this breakdown actual cause the muscle to breakdown and then not repair the muscle, in essence speeding up the development of the disease? Thanks - John
