Lgelb I had to write here because I couldn't open a thread For some time now I have had fatigue in my right leg and I have seen my extensor digitorum brevis muscle hypertrophy. I read in an article that this is a symptom of als and I'm really scared. I've had muscle twitches for a while and it's in my weight loss Can you help me?

Mod note- I have placed your post in its own thread. Please post here if you have any further questions.

I am not sure how you could self-diagnose enlargement of a foot muscle, but that would have nothing to do with ALS. In ALS, the muscles shrink after the nerves supplying them die. They don't get bigger.

Fatigue can arise from thousands of reasons. ALS doesn't make you tired at the beginning; it makes you unable to do things.

I would advise you to see your doctor on line or in person, whatever's safe, but there is no reason to worry about ALS at all. And I would stay off Google.

Best,
Laurie
