Hi,
First time posting to this forum. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
My main question is: I don't believe that I will be diagnosed with ALS tomorrow. But I dobelieve that I have something, and I do believe that I am getting worse. I don't really know what to do. If my EMG is clean tomorrow, can I be sure it isn't ALS, considering my symptoms? I am 23 yr old male and had a clean EMG when I got bodywide twitching 6 months ago
Like many people, I had bodywide twitching and was told BFS. But unlike many others, my problems started with a dull weakness in my right leg (sort of a numb, asleep feeling on the inside, not on the skin). Since then, I have developed really bad breathing problems (it's very uncomfortable to lie flat and it is difficult to laugh. Sometimes wake up and difficult to fall asleep due to breathing), cramps in hands, feet and sometimes abdomen, and nerve pain in both of my hands. My pinkies sort of "snap" up and down instead of moving smoothly.
if my EMG is clean tomorrow, can I be pretty sure it's not ALS? I am not super fond of my neurologist, and I'm afraid he isn't going to do a thorough job. He is a specialist in Myasthenia Gravis. I really feel like I am going downhill regardless of what problem I have.
Thank you again
