Eylon, male, 48. Class teacher in Waldorf education . For the past eight weeks have been experiencing muscle tightness and muscle fatigue on right side of body. Neck, shoulder, torso right buttocks and leg .
Fingers on right hand feel tight and achy and some on right foot . im attaching my neurological test and Emg .
The EMG found a few chronic neurogenic changes in some muscles which had made me very anxious and I would really appreciate your opinion on whether this could be ALS .
Thank you in advance
Eylon

Your EMG does not demonstrate an ALS pattern. In ALS, we would expect fibs, PSW (positive sharp waves) and increased insertional activity in multiple areas. EMGs can show abnormalities for a variety of reasons, not just ALS. It also looks like your muscle strength was normal (5 out of 5) in all muscles tested.

Muscle fatigue and aching does not suggest ALS. The hallmark of ALS is clinical weakness and muscle function failure. If you can still do everything you could a year ago, you do not have failure. And the EMG doesn’t suggest ALS either. So it looks as if there is some other explanation for your symptoms.

Thank you kindly for your answer Keren.
Anyone else with advice??

I agree with Karen. Follow up with your doctor

Thank you Nikki .
Are their any more moderators who could help me understand what’s going on?

I think if you reread my response and also read this attachment, you will have a lot of helpful information:

No - this is an ALS forum and you don't display ALS so please return to your doctor.
