Hello-

We won't disagree with a specialist or their interpretation of EMG/NCS. The NCS portion is where the abnormalities were found, which is not part of ALS. Please believe your doctors.

But there were some fibs on my emg for my arm is why im worried

An als emg is not just fibs it is a constellation of abnormalities in a pattern. You don’t show either. Emgs are abnrmal in many different ways and for many different reasons. As your interpetation says it looks like some mild old nerve damage which is common and unrelated to als

Any other opinions on my emg for my arm? I'm so nervous

Nope- it's pretty straight forward. Nikki knows her stuff. If you have further questions, please ask your doctor.

The interpretation does day emg was normal but notes the minimal chronic changes but if u look at the emg chart it does show the fibs and ins act . What else would be abnormal is als? Thanks for your help

Luciemae, it's important you ask your doctors for help with the interpretation and to work on your worries. It's very clear to us there is no concern for ALS based on this report, so not sure what else can be said. Perhaps you can speak with your doctor about what it means in more detail. That's what your doctor is there for.

Had a repeat nerve test and emg today. Different findings than last time. I am still having twitching but emg didn't show anything. And he said my nerve test didn't show neuropathy in any of my extremities this time. Should I trust this? He does use an older machine and uses a calculator for some part of the results..? Is this normal and trustworthy? I'm just nervous if it's reliable...

The basics of an emg have not changed. An older machine just isn’t as fancy. It does not affect the quality of the data. The calculator would have been related to the ncs there is nothing wrong with that. Take your results and run

Yes, this is normal and trustworthy. I observe, based on your questioning the results this time and in previous posts, that you do not seem to trust the conclusions of medical specialists and are turning to unqualified folk on the internet for reassurance.

I will be closing this thread, as an ALS forum is not going to be helpful to you further. If you are still struggling with believing these and past results, please see your doctor.
