Hello:
This is my first time posting. My mom has ALS for just over 2 years and has been declining at an alarming rate. In less than a year she went from being super fit and active to nearly 100% dependent on walking devices. I am desperate to find her help. I have read the book Hope Springs Eternal, which is based on a man's defeat of ALS with the use of Edgar Cayce's treatment recommendations. He credits his recovery mostly to the use of the Wet Cell Battery. My question is: has anyone used this or any other of Cayce's treatment with any success or found anything to atleast slow or hault the degeneration of their motor nerve cells?

Please respond Anyone!

Hi Its probably another scam If it was any good the als clinics would be using it. Its all about people making money off of desperate people. I believe God and a possitive additude helps more than any scam I would investigate this more before doing anything good luck and keep me informed Pat S

definitely sounds suspiciously like a product that won't work in the least.. i agree with patricia

What exactly is a Wet Cell Battery and what would one do with such a thing to stop ALS? This sounds like quackery to me. I sure wouldn't send anybody money to get one.

Melly37 - I'm real sorry to hear about your mom. We'd all love for something cure like this Cayce thing to come along, but if it sounds too good (or too weird) to be true ......

I read Edgar Cayce's books in the 70's and his brand of stuff was thought of as being off the wall back then. It is still in the realm of science fiction now. Don't even think of wasting your money. AL.

Hi there,
A good friend of mine (with ALS) tried that exact device and it didn't do a darn thing except separate him from his money.
Please be very, very careful when looking for the 'magic' pill. There are so many scams and schemes out there, and the people that sell them don't care about our situation! They see a market and go for it.

Use, as a rule of thumb, whether or not the device/ointment/vitamin/whatever, has been approved by a RECOGNIZED medical journal. Don't go by testimonials given by doctors as they are paid to say what they are saying.

As of today, there is no cure for ALS. BUT, they get closer every day!

With hope and faith in our hearts, fear has no place to settle.

Cheers!

Thanks to everyone who replied. I figured it sounded to good to be true but of course I always want to remain hopeful. The fact that there are so many people and companies that take of advantage of sick people is disgusting in my opinion. I imagine it would be so easy for a desperate person to fall into one of these schemes and I appreciate the advice of persons like yourselves to set the record straight for me early on.

But what I dont get is all of these people online who without appearing to be selling anything are still vouching for the wet cell battery and similiar products as having haulted or reversed their ALS symptoms. Have a look at this website for example and the personal testimonials included (some of whom have even included their contact information).

What do you all make of this site? With that said, has anyone had any measure of success with anything?

Thanks,
Mel

i recall the sad look on the face of the professor at st louis university when she told me there was just no doubt i had als. she also said at this time there was no known cure or sucessful teatment for als. be weary of so called cures. apparently at this time they just do not exist.

What a lot of people fail to realise is that anyone and I mean ANYONE can start a website claiming to be cured or be from Mars for that matter. The internet is anonymous. No one polices it except for kiddie porn and some of these scammers are no better than them. Send your money to a box number and take your chances. I wrote one of these supposedly cured people saying I wanted to meet them. Do you think they were interested ? Nope. Never heard back from the site. It's like "they say", who are they? How many times have you heard a story that someone knows someone who this actually happened to and if you ask enough questions you find out that no one really actually knows the person it was supposed to have happened to. Too many trusting people don't ask enough questions and that is what these scumbags count on. Millions are being made off poor trusting individuals. DON'T BE A VICTIM! AL.

Melly ....

Yes, it's true Cayce did recommend this treatment through one of his readings for a young man who purportedly had ALS. However, when Cayce's staff attempted to follow-up on the reading the individual could not be and was never located ... ergo, there's no
information available as to whether or not the treatment was successful for him.

In so far as applying stimulation to a dead motor neuron ... you can give a dead rabbit an electric shock ... but the rabbit is still dead.

This was the only person Cayce ever did a reading for that supposedly suffered from ALS. I suggest you go to the source before believing what's posted on the Internet.

I did this treatment for a year and half, in the early years of my ALS diagnosis. It didn't do anything. It It was time consuming and expensive!

OK guys. A car battery is a wet cell battery. I want the ladies to go outside or if you're from the southern states and keep your car in the living room and hook up the jumper cables to each ear. The men I want to hook the jumper cables up to your cajones. Now start the car. Report back to me if Cayce's theory cures you. AL.

Al -

You first.
