Does my dad have ALS?

2 Weeks ago one day at midnight we rushed to hospital because my dad couldn't sleep or feel his left arm because it was so numb.Then at the hospital they gave him iv and painkillers.But after that we visited a different doctor and he said my did might have ALS. He experiences numbness in his hands(it started on the legs few months ago),loses balance sometimes,can't sleep for most of the days(like only 2 hours a day),small speech problems when he talks too fast,tiredness,mood swings(as a result of intense stress).I dont know where else to post this guys.

Numbness has nothing to do with ALS. What kind of doctor mentioned ALS? Your dad needs a good workup by a neurologist, but I wouldn’t worry about ALS.

Yes it was a neurologist who said about the possiblity of ALS.

Your post is not a description of ALS. Possibly there was some miscommunicaton.
