I got an Email from someone who has ALS about living with ALS.

You can live with ALS… always having hope for a break through,
find joy in things every day you wake up, welcome old friends and
new ones, let go of those who have wandered off, do as much as you
can for yourself, explore reading or viewing things you used to overlook,
not related to ALS. Comedy shows, continue to make plans for the week
ahead, the months ahead and don’t shun thoughts of next year,

Or, you can live in ALS… for some this maybe their approach. Being
focused to every new progression, every new loss, consuming every
thing that can be found about ALS, following every new research paper,
researching yourself, being over sensitive to things said, experience from
the lost of a loved one. Maybe, just maybe to a point of OCD. My opinion…
not such a good thing.

But from the old song… “Different Strokes for Different Folks”. :)

For me… I take a break for a few days come back and amuse myself
with the trolls on “Could this be ALS” sub-forum and the mixed
messages concerning weakness vs failure. And the amusing posts
concerning diets, OTC supplements, self imposed regiments, questionable
ALS meds (cost vs effect). It is what it is. :)
