Hi folks. I was just recently diagnosed with MND. I had initially posted a thread here about a month ago, and then also had 2 really nice Reddit threads going. I'm going to copy over some of that content in a quote here as Reddit links are not allowed. In my follow up post it seems there are some members from this forum actually commenting as well, which prompted me to go ahead and update things here.
In a nutshell though: had my EMG last week and the Neuro diagnosed me with MND. He felt very strongly that I do have ALS, but feels we are a bit early for a diagnosis.

"Symptoms"
The big stickler here though - and the reason why I'm freaking (and my wife) a bit is that my father had ALS and passed away a few years ago from it (at age 53). I'm currently 38. So of course ALS is the first thing we are thinking here.
- Left thigh twitches 24/7
- Due to this I have a bit of muscle atrophy in my thigh
- This has been going on for about 6 months straight, every day, 24/7
- I am actually having issues walking up stairs if I'm carrying anything at this point. So def. some muscle atrophy going on.
- My lifestyle changed about a year ago. I'm not rather sedentary so I assume this does not help.
- I don't really drink anything but water - no electrolyte drinks
- I probably am about 20-30 lbs overweight as well - again doesn't help
Also wanted to note that occasionally, normally in the mornings when waking up, I'll have some other muscle twitching. Sometimes my other thigh, sometimes a bicep, but those are random.
0 tingling - only twitching and weakness, which has me freaking. I have a Dr. Appt. set up for 2 weeks out.
