just a follow up:
my difficulty swallowing was caused by my esophagus being closed, it was stretched (sadly it didnt help)
so I was thinking about canceling my emg appointment that I had today but my wife said go ahead since it’s scheduled.
so the nurse did the shocking portion and doctor did needle portion however the doctor repeated the shocking around my wrist
I asked why he redid it and he said “because it doesn’t look right”
i did Injure my hand on Memorial Day with still some pain today (work related have done it before)
that was the hand rechecked first then the other
could the injury show a bad reading?
wont have results until Monday or Tuesday

The shock ( aka ncs) portion if abnormal would not be ALS. aLS shows in the Emg ( needle exam). Abnormalities in ncs point away from ALS. Certainly an injury might cause an abnormal ncs but ALS would not. You are cleared
