I have developed a burning sensation when my wife massages my legs. It is completely bilateral , is completely skin based and there is no swelling nor anything to suggest a DVT. I am diabetic and consequently am thinking that it is some sort of neuropathy.

Anyone experience this or something similar?

i have the same in specific muscle groups in my thighs, both legs. have not discussed with doctor but camphor based pain rub helps for a couple of days. sorry not to be more definitive.

It could be some sort of neuropathy. It could also be vascular related to stasis (sluggish circulation). More elevation of legs might help, and possibly Gabapentin. Compression stockings are another thought.

thanks, Karen, with your vascular analysis. my left foot is red and tends to swell. thanks.
