handinhand ... I'm so sorry this is happening. You have so much on your plate right now, but remember: there are devices that can enable you to keep functioning long past the "guesstimates" doctors talk about.

Talk to your neuro about a feeding tube to keep getting good nutrition, and a BiPap to help you breathe at night and give your diaphragm a rest. I use both and they are life-savers, especially (for me) the tube. I'd be in dire straits trying to eat without it.

All forms of ALS take massive adjustments on our parts to deal with the emotional and physical symptoms, but once we start making those adjustments, life gets a little easier again and we can turn our attention to fully enjoying the time we have left.

Hang in there. You can fight this disease and learn to live with ALS.
