Brushing Teeth

hi guys, coming a little late to this thread but i have some questions. I just started helping kathy with her mouth. today she stuck my finger in there and i could feel a layer of mucus just adhered to the back of her throat and her tongue is a dry, pebbly mess. I gently brushed, suctioned and swabbed what i could, but she revealed that her tongue is always dry and scaly.

What can I do? I spread some coconut oil on her teeth and tongue to moisturize a bit. Any tips?

Some kind of oral gel for moisture -- some people like the Biotene products, others don't. There are also mouth sprays, all kinds of herbal stuff. Can't remember if Kathy still can suck on a sugarless cough drop, things like that, or you could even rub it around yourself.

And as noted below, if she can tolerate a water pik or other water source that you suction as you go, might help restore balance.
