Hello everyone ~ I have a question regarding my husband's blood pressure. In his right arm which has the atrophy, his BP is significantly higher 156/105. His left arm, which is now starting to atrophy is 140/82, which is more like his normal readings. This has happened quite often recently and we are wondering if this might have something to do with the atrophy. Has anyone come across this before?

Thanks for any info regarding this.

Hi Pam. I haven't seen this particular problem but my Carrdiologist just took me off my BP meds because my BP is lower now. I've been on it since 1999. He figures that due to the atrophy and ALS in general my BP is lower.

Al ~Thanks for the quick response. It seems like maybe his BP spike might be stress induced. He saw his neuros on Tuesday, and they are going to try an IVIg treatment later this month. I know how concerned I am, so I can only imagine how he is feeling and what is racing through his mind.

Thanks again and have a good night!
Pam
