I think I remember seeing something somewhere about blood pressure flutuations in ALS patients. I cannot remember where I saw it.

My mother, who has always had low bp (90/50) is now having readings like 135/90.

Is this related to the ALS affecting certain area of the brain?

I don't think it's brain related. Is she on any new meds? I have been able to go off 2 of my BP meds in the last year and a half due to falling BP. I'm not moving much being in a power chair 14 hours per day which may account for it. Stress from the diagnosed at first may have put it higher as well.
