Hi, its a pulmonary function test where you breathe in and out through a computerized machine that gives percentage values to your efforts. you come up with a series of numbers rating your ability to inhale. exhale and have desiganations of fvc, fev, fef etc. Unfortunately these standard tests are taken in the sitting or supine position which is not where most have the problem, lying down measurements are meaningful if the value is 30% or more lower than the sitting value.
