i live in a very small town in middle Tennessee. i read in yesterday's newspaper that a lady is walking 2000 mi. across the country to raise awareness about als. it seems that her mother, age 60, was diagnosed with als and lived only a few months.

her family is following behind her in a rv, and they camped night before last about 5 miles from my home in an rv park. my husband, who has als, and i did not know this until she had left by only a few hours. how we would have loved to have gone and talked to her about how proud we are of her for doing this.

has anyone else read about this lady? what all of us would not give to find a cure for this horrific disease that is taking the lives of our loved ones, and completely changing forever the lives of the caregivers.

God bless.
