Australia's Freeze MND

Neale Daniher is a well known sports face in Australia.
He was diagnosed with bulbar onset MND (ALS) last year and has been an incredible advocate for disease and started his own foundation and has been raising millions that goes directly to research.

$4million raised - Neale Daniher is such a hero to me as he is just so much like my Chris was when first diagnosed (Neale is about 3 years since diagnosis of Bulbar onset).

OK this is amazing me, the power of what Neale Daniher and his team have done.

The link below is to an article about the second year of the big freeze and the government (yes, I'm still like no way, but it's true) are MATCHING the funding raised today. Last count was around $2.5million already this year. So my reporting on $4million earlier has already gone up to $5million between the 2 years, and even if no more is raised in the next 4 hours, the government are committed to throw another $2.5million into the pot.

All the money raised is pure funds to go to MND/ALS research. The entire event both years was completely sponsored, so there are no costs of running everything to deduct from donations.

Wow, that's great news. Can't believe the government are matching it.

I saw Neil on a footy type show, he's definitely a funny bugger

I'll have to check out the links . My niece just 11 saw him on the morning show and now wants to raise money at school with a free dress day. Just something else he's inspired. She'd prefer to do the giant ice slide though
