I had a rather strange episode last night, I was sleeping in my recliner last night and woke up choking(not fun with a bipap on). I have had reflux for years, however I either burped or had one episode of reverse peristalsis. Not really worrisome except I aspirated stomach contents ( vomit ). My lungs have been on fire ever since.

Is burning lungs something that would resolve itself, or does this need checked. Any tips to prevent this in the future would also be greatly appreciated.

Your system might clear it on its own. Monitor yourself for breathing, coughing, and fevers, especially over the next few days.

It might not hurt to give your doc a call anyway as you may need a change in your reflux management program. Then they can advise you whether or not they need to see you right away.

Meanwhile, If you have a persistent cough, particularly if you produce yellow or green phlegm, have temps over 100, or difficulty breathing, then see your doc right away.
