I finally finished the apple personal voice. It is only 150 sentences and I think someone with no issues could knock it out in one session. I was doing a few at a time and then stopped for a while. It sounds like me but sometimes the emphasis is wrong. Still it isn’t terrible

I can use it on my apple devices and supposedly on apps though I haven’t tried. I typed a sentence about Dr Jones and it said dear Jones. Had to put a period after the dr to get it to say doctor. You can set up favorite phrases though which is handy

Has anyone else used it yet?

Hi, I have 45 phrases left.. I record my phrases until my voice quality starts to fade then stop for the day.. we will see how it sounds.. I do wish I did it sooner.. when my voice was still sweet.. but at least , I hope it will sound like me when I am done..

Good luck in finishing. Can you maybe rest and restart? I did that towards the end so to get it done.

You are right people should voicebank asap and this is at least easy and available if you have an apple device. I encouraged the genetic carriers in my fals group to do it as insurance.

Let us know how it turns out

I'm just starting to learn about the technologies for speech or voicebaking and most seem super expensive or not available in Spanish. Is the comparable to other services?
The voice created will only work in iphones and Ipads, correct?

Correct. You can export the actual recordings which I suppose might be usable with some other programs I know the Jay Fischman clinic in Boston has used old non dedicated recordings to develop voices. Of course if you can starting with a dedicated program you will use is best

So, I finished recording my voice.. I have been traveling in our RV and found you need good service to record your voice.. I finally finished that but due to wifi that would cut out occasionally it took 3 days for it to be processed.. I am in the middle of figuring out how to use it. The instructions I found have not matched what I am seeing on the screen pf my phone.. I have an iphone12 , dont know if that matters.. My weekend goal is get it all figured out.. I agree with Nikki, I think even if you dont use it, it might be nice for loved ones to hear your voice when you can no longer speak.. I know when my mom got sick and after she passed , I find comfort being able to hear her voice when I need to

I remember I had to play around a little to find my voice to choose it. I had to open languages and it was one of the choices for English. Is that where you are stuck? Once you are set up you can get the keyboard and saved phrase by triple clicking

Thanks for the hints Nikki. We get to our destination in July 3 where we will have good WiFi and cell.. I will play around with it and report back.. thanks for lighting a fire under me to get it done ;)

I finally got to a place with good cell and wifi. I had missed the little words under “live speech” once I had it on.. It says to press the side button on my phone 3x..now all is good… So… some of my voice sounds like me and is fine, other phrases sound a bit flat.. but maybe its because some phrases I recorded might have been a bit flat since it was a new process. Eventually it occurred to me while recording to add some life into my phrases so I the Personal voice wouldnt sound so robotic.. I might try and make a second one.. with more feeling if possible.. also, I thought on the instructions I found online it said you can adjust pitch and speed.. but maybe that is only if you use the pre-loaded personal speech
