I am a daughter of a parent (mom) diagnosed about a year ago and has a rapidly progressive form of ALS. Recently hospitalized for no reason other than she was "Scared to be home" we have been researching options for care. I need help. :-(

Please contact the hospital social worker for assistance. Also, get in touch with your local ALS society. Does she have all she requires at home? Caregiving, equipment, nutrition etc? There may be a reason for her fear of going home and which she has not disclosed to you; she may tell a social worker or chaplain. If she is advancing quickly, she may require hospice care. She may be afraid of dying. And specifically, afraid of dying at home.

I am sorry I have no more insight for you but I wish you and your Mom all the best.
