I haven’t posted for a while. I miss you all! I heard some very exciting news last night from the head of the ALS research in Vancouver. He told me that patients with FALS have shown incredible response to the antisense Trial. He said that patients have actually improved with the drug. Of course this doesn’t help us sporadic people but is great news for FALS. I hope this is not false hope but I really do trust the source.

Hi Ted good to hear from you.

The sod1 antisense has been very hopeful and is enrolling phase 3. The results of the earlier phase were reported very recently and showed dramatic slowing but not improvement. I have heard hints that individuals had improvements and wonder if they had one of the less aggressive variants of sod1.

Antisense is indeed very hopeful and c9 is in early phase 1 trials

Thanks for sharing

This is great news for the entire community. The focus on FALS by researchers is based on the fact it is easier to hit a stationary target. This doesn't necessarily mean it can't have benefit for the rest of us.
