Miraculously my EMG has been pulled forward to tomorrow and the spinal MRI is still on for the day after.
I've normally used visualisation to keep myself occupied during MRIs. Play a round of golf in my head. Stuff like that. But this is going to be a full hour or more in the machine so I've decided on a different strategy: Billy Connolly at the Royal Albert Hall. I sure hope laughter doesn't screw up the imaging.
So, depending on how talkative the Neuromuscular Specialist is during the EMG, I might know tomorrow if the horrible stuff can be eliminated. It'd be simply wonderful if he's at least able to let me know if it's clean. I suspect though he'll reserve much comment until he's had a chance to complete his report to the referring Neurologist.
Still, I'm a realist. Even if the EMG is clean (finger's crossed, yay!) or not (boo, hiss!) my path's probably not finished. But at least it stands a chance of being a good week.
