"Is the power of prayer working?"

Part One -
Prayer:
Unites us
in a relationship with God – [Adoration, Thankfulness, Seeking his will,
Living with integrity, etc.]
Unites us with others who pray and with their prayers, being part of “the cloud
of witness.” [the great cloud of witnesses are all those people who have lived
before us — whether famous or not — who have lived lives of faith, following
God, leaving for us a rich spiritual legacy.]
Increases awareness of and concern for those who are afflicted, suffering,
persecuted, lonely, etc. [Intercessory Prayer]
Inspires one to contribute to positive change in the world through work, service,
volunteering and giving. And other.

Part Two:
The Effectiveness – “Power of Prayer” [how well it works or brings the results one hoped for.]

I believe all prayers are heard by God.
Have prayers been answered? “Yes.”
Have prayers been answered exactly as prayed? “Not always.”
Have some prayers seemed to be unanswered? “Yes.”
There still may have been an answer, just not the way we desired.

Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane, set the example: “if it is possible, let this cup [death] pass from me; yet not what I want but what you want.” Although His prayer was answered, it is difficult for us, too, to add the latter.

And yet: from the first person who prayed, to the last one who prays, I believe there was, is and will continue, to be power in prayer.
May Blessings abound, Al. B.
