Fantastic alternative to Hoyer lift -- it is a portable device that operates hanging from a ceiling rail. Great option for PALS living in a home environment.
Hi, my mom passed from ALS a year and a half ago and we immediately donated all items, except no agency would take this one. Not sure why, but in cleaning up the garage realized this could be of great use to someone. This is a portable overhead lift that operates using an overhead rail and is a fantastic alternative to the traditional Hoyer lifts. It is much easier for caregivers as there is no apparatus to move around on the floor, and it provides a very smooth ride for the one in the sling. Our caregivers loved it. Here is the manufacturer: Amico Group of Companies- model: GoLift Portable450
We used it for about a year and had the rail installed on the ceiling of the room where she lived. We have the lift itself and we have the rail and all of the equipment to install it. The lift retails for $3,000 and the rail was probably in the neighborhood of $1,000 . The rail is about 9 feet long. I am not sure what shipping would cost, depending on where the lift is going to go. We are in the Washington, D.C. area.
Let me know if you might be interested. Asking $1,000 or best offer.
