Dear all
I am a new member worried that I have ALS. I started having swallowing problems 3 months ago and recently leg weakness with twiches in legs arms shoulders and back.
OGD and nasal laryngscopy were normal as well as MRI Brain and spine apart from c 5 6 stenosis.
I'm dreading the possibility of ALS. I'm seeing a specialist in 2 weeks.
Any thoughts please?
Thank you
IG

Ps I am a 45 year old female. Sorry I did not mention it above

It’s premature to speculate about ALS. There could be so many other possibilities that are more likely.

You need a good neurological exam. Two weeks is not that long to wait. I’d try to focus on things you enjoy in the meantime.

Karen thank you so much! Will wait to see the neurologist and will keep you posted

IG,

Try to relax. No one will be able to tell you anything definitive until you see your doctors and they give you a diagnosis. If you must Google symptoms find something other than ALS and less serious and fixate on that one.

Your issues are more likely associated with something other than ALS.

Darrell

Darrell thanks a lot and happy New year!
