I have been inundated with PALS/CALS/families facing foreclosure and eviction from their homes. I am working with the banks on their behalf for the purpose of keeping them in their homes for as long as necessary.

I don't have much experience in this area. Is there anyone knowledgeable that can occassionally advise me and provide some direction? Perhaps someone on this board knows of a good samaritan that might help?

Hey there. I have several contacts in Orange County. Relatives in banking in RSM and San Diego. They might be able to donate some time on a semi-regular basis to help with forms, etc. Give banking guidance, etc.

If this type of help would be of service to you and your clients, please let me know. I will have someone contact you.

Cheers,
Bujy

Stu,

If you are looking for help as far as advice dealing with banks and all that, then maybe myself and husband can help. We are in banking/real estate. we have dealt with alot of foreclosures. Do you need a liason or person to call the banks or work with pal/cals on thier behalf? Banks are agreeing to alot of crazy things these days.

Loss mitigation specialists

If you know of people that are being threatened with foreclosure, they should, like April mentioned, get someone to mediate on their behalf. These mediators are known as "Loss Mitigation Specialist" and can usually be found via a realty broker.

I had a very tough time of it physically last spring and summer and my illness effected my health to the point that my business nose-dived. By some miraculous timing, I ran into one of the mitigation specialist 24 hours prior to the foreclosure. This person was able to get to the right people in the nick of time and save my house from the foreclosure. Of course, the realty company got the local paper and t.v. station involved and the whole community knew my business in an instant. But, my house was saved! The thing has 3 levels and is not handicapped friendly.

Anyway, if you contact any good-sized realty company, they should be able to connect you with the people that can help in avoiding/fighting foreclosure.

Zaphoon, I am so sorry you had to go through the stress of a pending foreclosure! Thank goodness you ran into just the person who could help you avoid that outcome. Having been in a similar situation for completely different reasons, I can still remember what it felt like. God-Awful.

Glad to hear it worked out for you!
