First of all I want to say a big thank you...I really seriously anyone will rememeber me. I was very active on here about 11-12 years ago as i was convinced i had this awful disease. What brought me on here was my calfs, they were twtiching all the time, they still do!...they twitch about 200 times a minute none stop and obviously through Dr google i was brought to ALS. Anyways not to dwell on that, i had an EMG and although it was not perfect i did not have ALS. I obviously did not as i run 50+ miles a week and i have never been fitter....however...

I have to say that in my heart i dont think what i am about to describe to you is ALS, my education on here from before would tell me its stupid to even suggest this, but i really have no one else to talk to regarding this and i cant get to see my DR with the current situation as it is.

Over the past few months i have developed a spasm/twitch/tic (not sure how to describe it) in the conrer of my mouth. The right side of my mouth where the lips meet every few seconds twtiches and raises up. For the first few months it was off and on, but over the past few weeks its constant, every other second and people can actually see it.

Of course it is now in my mind all the time which is no doubt making this worse.

Like i said my sensible head tells me its not ALS, but then the part of my brain from 12 years ago is niggling away in the back ground with the "what if" question.

I am 45 years old and otherwise healthy ( i think)

Does this sound like a start of ALS or do i need to get this out of my head now?

Thanks for listening

Chris

To comeback, with your 108th post, during one of the most scary times in history, shows extreme self-absorption and little care for those battling this disease. Do you realise that the people who were on here 12 years ago are no longer alive?

I'm going to be blunt here- you are not healthy, not mentally anyway, to be still obsessing over this awful and cruel disease. Please, go get help for that and you will see, that if you make a concerted effort to get well in that area, you will find your physical symptoms start to abate.

Best of luck to you in life and stay safe. No need to come back in 1, 5, or another 12 years.

Hey let’s be a little nicer. chris said sorry. Chris it might be the stress of the situation is manifesting in weird ways. I am sure it at least made you think catastrophically

they are right no need to worry about ALS. Channel your energy to self care and supporting the nhs and those in need However you can

I am sorry i did not mean to upset anyone at all...i have not been obsessing this awful disease at all. I am fully aware that people are actually suffering from it and my heart goes out to them.

Again sorry i did not mean any offence or to cause any upset.
