Advice for home renovations or adaptations

Laurie, thanks for the feedback - its hard to know how things are going to progress and listening to other people's experiences has been super helpful. I did do an intro on the new members post a couple months ago but I really don't know how this forum works quite yet. We know we will need a wheelchair eventually - my main point was I'm not sure grab bars will do us any good. So maybe we are lucky and we can skip that step LOL. We have a bedroom downstairs, and our big remodel will be figuring out an ADA bathroom.

Whatever equipment you think that you'll need, get on the ALS list as soon as possible. Shower chairs, for example, are hot commodities. It's better to get them early than to not have them available when you need them.

Thank you everyone! We met with a designer the other day and I am compiling a list of these suggestions to share with him.

I'll post it after I get it organized!
