Sorry, I'm on a roll here... :)

At the end of a race the winner usually does what they call
a celebration “Burn Out”. They can adjust their brakes from
the inside of the car. They back down the rear brakes so that
the rear wheels can spin freely. At the finish line they stop,
apply brakes to front wheels, then spin the rear tires almost
wide open. This causes the tires to burn and create a huge
amount of smoke.

They’ll do donuts spinning around and round. Some will
actually pull up against the wall and just let the tires burn,
creating an even larger cloud of smoke. Many times the
rear tires will blow out.

Now, they have created this really huge cloud of smoke –
burning special compound tires (rubber) and burning asphalt.
Smoke likes to follow an incline so the smoke usually
follows up through the stands and into the crowd (fans).

Who knows what toxic chemicals is in that smoke. Again,
special compound rubber and burning asphalt.

These die hard race fans love it. I worry about their kids.

Yet… these speedways are worried, seriously concerned about
second hand cigarette smoke in an outdoor open area.

The unexpected Red Dust at the Bristol dirt track and Celebration
Burn Outs are no concern but second hand cigarette smoke
is a serious hazard to their fans health. :) :) :)

From a non smoker.
