Questions about EMG

Hello, and sorry for any inconvenience and english too, I'm from Brazil, 22 years old.

I've been feeling fasciculations in various parts of the body since July / August. In December I went to the neurologist and the physical tests were normal. Last month I had an EMG and everything was normal, (except for what we think its a hernia), fasciculations did not appear. However, I did some research and read that ALS takes time to be diagnosed and sometimes does not appear in ENGM, is this true? I'm wondering if I should retake the exam in a few months.

Thank u.

Those people who took time to be diagnosed did not have normal exams and emgs Many people have to wait to see their regular doctors, then are sent to orthopedics or pt witth more waits before they ever see a neurologist. The first neurologist might do an emg and say they thought ALS but then send them to another specialist neurologist for diagnosis. Others have abnormalities that don’t fully meet criteria but they know something is wrong and are told by the doctor to repeat the emgs because of that

Thanks for the answer. I should stop worrying about it then. The doctor who did the test said that I probably have fibromyalgia. But there was no sign of weakness, atrophy or fasciculations. (The exam was carried out on the four members). Thanks again for the reply and sorry to bother you. :)

Enjoy your good health, and if/when you are again worried, it can be helpful to assist others whose health is not as good as yours.
